Kolkata Metro Line 5 (Pink Line) is a sanctioned 12.50 km broad gauge elevated corridor with 11 planned stations (Baranagar, Kamarhati, Agarpara, Sodepur, Panihati, Sukchar, Khardaha, Tatagate, Titagarh, Talpukur, Barrackpore). Running along Barrackpore Trunk Road (BT Road), the line connects the North-South Line 1 hub at Baranagar to the historic suburban district at Barrackpore.

Baranagar to Barrackpore Line 5 corridor sanctioned at ₹2,070 Cr by Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee.

2012

State government & KMC raised concerns regarding 6 massive arterial water pipelines (42 to 72-inch diameter) under BT Road.

RVNL Revision

RVNL submitted a revised micro-tunneling plan to lay a new 60-inch MS pipeline between Dunlop Bridge and Chiriamore to clear central pier locations.

Phased Execution

Phase 1 (Baranagar to Gandhi Ashram / Sodepur) and Phase 2 (Gandhi Ashram to Mangal Pandey / Barrackpore) planned for construction.
