The Mysuru–Kushalnagar Expressway is commonly used to describe the four-lane, access-controlled greenfield highway project on NH-275 connecting the Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway near Paschimavahini in Srirangapatna with Guddehosur near Kushalnagar in Kodagu district. The project is being implemented by NHAI.
The route starts at Paschimavahini near Srirangapatna in Mandya district, connects with the Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway, and runs through the Mysuru region toward Kushalnagar in Kodagu district. The corridor includes sections through the Hunsur and Periyapatna areas before reaching Guddehosur.
The project follows a predominantly greenfield alignment parallel to the existing NH-275 corridor. The main project runs from Paschimavahini to Guddehosur, with an approximately 8.5 km section around Periyapatna using or improving the existing corridor rather than being entirely greenfield.
The Mysuru–Kushalnagar route map runs from Paschimavahini near Srirangapatna through the Mysuru region, Hunsur and Periyapatna toward Guddehosur near Kushalnagar. The latest NHAI alignment and package documents should be used for detailed mapping because the project has been divided into multiple construction packages.
The current project length is approximately 92.3 km. NHAI environmental documentation records the design length as 92.335 km, from Kushalnagar to Mysuru, while project and government announcements commonly round the figure to 92 km.
The project has been reported at different cost stages. The 2023 foundation-stone announcement cited about ₹4,130 crore, while later NHAI-related reporting has cited an approved project cost of about ₹4,129 crore. A separate 2026 report gives ₹2,502 crore as the construction estimate, so the ₹4,129–₹4,130 crore figure is the appropriate broader approved project-cost reference rather than treating ₹2,502 crore as the only project cost.
Yes. Construction is underway across the main project packages. By July 2026, overall physical construction progress was reported at about 18.3%, while land availability had reached the final stage across the four active construction packages.
The Mysuru–Kushalnagar NH-275 project is under construction. July 2026 progress data showed about 18.3% overall construction completion, with Package 2 at 13.6%, Package 3 at 24.5%, Package 4 at 18.4% and Package 5 at 16.6%. Land acquisition was also nearing completion.
The latest major update is that construction has reached about 18.3% overall progress and land acquisition is nearing completion. The project is currently targeted for completion by December 2027, although local stakeholders have expressed the possibility of finishing earlier if the remaining works progress as planned.
The active Mysuru–Kushalnagar highway construction is divided into four main packages covering the 92.3 km corridor: Package 2 covers about 22.7 km, Package 3 about 24.1 km, Package 4 about 26.5 km and Package 5 about 19 km. A separate Package 1 toward Madikeri is associated with a different proposed extension and should not be included in the 92.3 km project.
The current reported completion target for the 92.3 km NH-275 project is December 2027. Earlier targets included 2026 and June 2027, but these were revised as land acquisition and construction schedules changed.
The access-controlled four-lane highway is planned to reduce travel time between Mysuru and Kushalnagar to less than one hour. It will also improve connectivity from Bengaluru through the existing Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway, with the Bengaluru–Kushalnagar journey expected to become significantly shorter after completion.
