The Ghodbunder Road Widening Project, also known as the Ghodabandar–Gaimukh Road project, is a major road expansion and elevated corridor being developed between Gaimukh and Fountain Hotel Junction in Thane.
Ghodbunder Road Status & Latest Update
Under MSRDC's supervision, foundation pillars for the elevated viaduct are being built along the hillsides of Ghodbunder. Retaining wall construction is underway near the creek-side stretches to widen ground level lanes.
Traffic management plans have been modified, restricting heavy container movements to designated hours to minimize peak-hour congestion during construction phases.

The alignment follows the current Ghodbunder Road (SH-42) corridor, beginning from the Gaimukh octroi checkpoint area and ending at the Fountain Hotel interchange on NH-48.
