Bangalore Metro Expansion Projects

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is constructing and expanding the rapid transit network across Bangalore to link major IT hubs (ITPL, Electronic City, Manyata Tech Park), residential suburbs, and Kempegowda International Airport:

Yellow Line (RV Road to Bommasandra)

19.15 km operational corridor with 16 stations linking RV Road to Electronic City and Bommasandra.

Pink Line (Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara)

A 21.26 km under-construction corridor featuring 13.9 km of underground tunneling (18 stations total) connecting Bannerghatta Road to Nagawara.

Blue Line (Central Silk Board–Kempegowda International Airport)

A 58.19 km high-capacity under-construction airport corridor (30 stations) connecting Central Silk Board, KR Puram, Hebbal, and Kempegowda International Airport.

Bangalore Metro Phase 3

Phase 3 received Union Cabinet approval in August 2024 (₹15,611 Crore) for 44.65 km and 31 stations. Phase 3A Sarjapur–Hebbal Red Line (~35.59 km, 28 stations) is under DPR preparation and proposed for sanction:

Commercial operations launched on Reach 1 (Baiyappanahalli to MG Road, 6.7 km) of the Purple Line.

Phase 1 fully completed across Purple & Green lines (42.3 km) with Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station (Majestic) interchange.

Purple Line Connected

Missing links completed, opening continuous rapid transit from Challaghatta to Whitefield (Kadugodi, 43.49 km).

Green Line Extension

Northern extension of Green Line opened from Nagasandra to Madavara (BIEC), expanding operational network reach.
