Pune Metro Phase 2
The Pune Metro Phase 2 expansion plans focus on widening transit coverage across suburban areas, adding crucial extensions to the Phase 1 lines, and proposing brand new lines. The expansion network includes:
Swargate to Katraj
A 5.4 km fully underground extension of Corridor 1 (Purple Line) carrying the line southwards from Swargate to Katraj. This segment bypasses the congested Satara Road.
PCMC to Nigdi
A 4.4 km elevated northern extension of the Purple Line to Nigdi (Bhakti Shakti Chowk), serving the industrial hubs along the Old Pune-Mumbai Highway.
Vanaz to Chandni Chowk
A 1.2 km elevated western extension of the Aqua Line (Line 2) linking Vanaz to the vital Chandni Chowk junction.
Ramwadi to Wagholi
A 11.6 km elevated eastern extension of the Aqua Line stretching along the Ahmednagar Highway to serve the high-growth IT and residential suburb of Wagholi.
