Lucknow Metro Expansion & Future Network Plans
Lucknow Metro currently operates a 22.878 km North-South Corridor from CCS Airport to Munshipulia with 21 stations. The approved Phase 1B East-West Corridor will add 11.165 km and 12 stations between Charbagh and Vasant Kunj. Detailed design consultancy has been awarded, and UPMRC has invited a ₹1,877.89 crore civil construction tender for the underground Charbagh–Chowk section with seven underground stations.
Union Cabinet-Approved Phase 1B (Charbagh to Vasant Kunj)
The 11.165 km East-West Corridor (6.88 km underground with 7 stations, 4.285 km elevated with 5 stations) connects Charbagh through Aminabad, Pandeyganj, Medical Chauraha and Chowk to Vasant Kunj at an approved outlay of ₹5,801 crore. Detailed design consultancy has been awarded, and UPMRC has invited a ₹1,877.89 crore civil construction tender for the underground Charbagh–Chowk section with seven underground stations.
Lucknow Metro Phase 2 & Future Expansion
Several future metro corridors have been proposed under long-term mobility planning for Lucknow. These proposals are subject to government consideration and approval and should not be treated as sanctioned or under-construction metro lines.
Transport Nagar Depot & Vasant Kunj Maintenance Depot
The operational 24.4-hectare Transport Nagar Depot on Kanpur Road houses maintenance, test tracks, and 20 Alstom Metropolis trainsets for the Red Line. A dedicated 20-hectare maintenance depot at Vasant Kunj is approved as part of Phase 1B.
